About Gary D. Schwartz, MD Gary D. Schwartz, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician providing membership-based concierge medicine services to patients in and around Hackensack, New Jersey. Dr. Schwartz specializes in high-quality primary care and preventive medicine. With his personalized, membership-based approach to health care, members develop a strong doctor-patient relationship with Dr. Schwartz, receiving unhurried, compassionate medical care. Dr. Schwartz began his health care career at the age of 18, starting out working as an EMT on an ambulance in Brooklyn, New York. He earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing at Long Island University in Downtown Brooklyn and worked in the emergency room before pursuing his medical degree. Dr. Schwartz earned his medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean, formerly located in Montserrat, British West Indies, and then completed his internal medicine residency in Newark at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (currently known as Rutgers New Jersey Medical School), before completing his clinical training in London, England. He has over 20 years of experience in private practice and is a certified medical director of several local nursing homes. An award-winning doctor, Dr. Schwartz was named one of Jersey’s Best Magazine Top Doctors in 2018 and 2019, and Top Doctors New York Metro Area for three consecutive years from 2018 to 2020. He is a member of the American College of Physician Executives and the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. Dr. Schwartz is dedicated to putting his patients first.
